No. 4 Volleyball Ties Best Start in Program History
POMONA, Calif. – The No. 4 ranked Broncos picked up their 15th consecutive win on Friday afternoon, improving their overall record to 19-1 on the season. This ties the best start to a season through their first 20 matches in program history, having also gone 19-1 to open the 2005 campaign.
Friday's 3-0 win over Sonoma State also marked the seventh consecutive sweep for the Green & Gold, tying another program record. The team now has 14 sweeps on the season, just one shy of the program record set just last season.
In a similar story to just about every other match over the past month, Cal Poly Pomona handled Sonoma State in three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-18, and 25-15. The Broncos are an incredible 39-3 in sets won since the start of conference play, having not lost a set since October 5th to contribute to their 13-0 conference record. The team swung .305 in the match compared to the Seawolves' .029, marking the worst of a CPP opponent all season.
Sarah Ybarra, who wears #14, turned in an appropriately impressive performance with 14 kills and 14 digs while swinging .440 in the match. Samantha Campion turned in yet another double-double with 12 kills and leading the team with 17 digs, marking her 12th of the season. The duo accounts for over 52 percent of the team's kills this season.
Caitie Mueller turned in 33 assists, while tying Charlotte Koerber for the team lead with two blocks. Koerber has stepped up in a big way over the past month, recording just shy of 100 kills and swinging .271 on the season.

The Broncos will face Cal Poly Humboldt tomorrow, November 2nd, in another iteration of the Cal Poly Clash rivalry at 3:00 PM. The Broncos previously won 3-1 against the Lumberjacks back on October 3rd in Arcata.
