Broncos Finish With 18 CSC Academic All-District Honorees
By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications
POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona spring sports saw 11 student-athletes earn recognition on Tuesday for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Three student-athletes earned the recognition in the winter, while four earned it in the fall – bringing this year's total to 18 for the department.
The 2024 Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District recognition by their athletic communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average.
For Baseball, a student-athlete must have played in 90 percent of the team's games or must start in at least 66 percent of the team's games. For pitchers, it is 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. For Track & Field, a student-athlete must have finished in the top-50 regionally in an individual event based on the TFRRS performance lists. Though Cross Country is a fall sport, it is recognized in conjunction with Track & Field in the spring.
