Cal Poly Pomona Falls to Stanislaus State

TURLOCK, Calif. - In a hard-fought battle, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos faced a tough defeat against Stanislaus State, falling 0-2 in their last regular-season road game. 

Despite dominating the offensive stats with 24 shots compared to Stanislaus' 4, the Broncos struggled to convert their opportunities into goals, managing only 8 shots on target. The match saw the first goal come from a penalty kick, giving Stanislaus State an early lead. The second goal, scored off a corner kick at the 73:13 mark, sealed the Broncos' fate. Defensively, the Broncos showcased resilience, with their back-line working tirelessly to minimize scoring chances for the opposition.

Kiarra D'Arcangelo led the offensive charge, registering 3 shots on goal, while Vanessa Cruz added 2. Giselle Samayoa, Bella Anderson, and Marissa Salazar each contributed with 1 shot on target. Despite the disappointing result, the Broncos remain strong with an overall record of 12-1-2 and a conference mark of 5-1-2, positioning them well as they head into the final stretch of the season.
