POMONA, Calif. - In an intense Cal Poly Clash showdown, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks, solidifying their place in the upcoming CCAA conference tournament.
The first half was marked by strong defensive play, with the Broncos controlling the tempo and launching seven shots, while the Lumberjacks managed just one attempt on goal. Despite several near misses, both teams headed into halftime scoreless.
The breakthrough came in the 68th minute when Angelina Rivas netted her second goal of the season, delivering the decisive strike that would ultimately seal the victory for the Broncos. Goalkeeper Bella Hara played a vital role in the match, making three crucial saves to keep the Lumberjacks at bay and preserve the shutout.
