Ayana Fields Picks up Second Consecutive CCAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week Award

For the second consecutive week, Cal Poly Pomona's Ayana Fields has been selected as the CCAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
Fields improved on two others with relay teams as the Broncos competed at the Stanford Invitational. With teammates Thomas, Queniat and Carrigan, Fields and the Broncos ran 45.92 in the 4x100, which is now the ninth fastest time in Division II. Along with Thomas, Milton and Queniat, the Bronco quartet timed 3:44.12 in the 4x400 which is also the ninth fastest time this season. The 4x100 time is the third fastest in Cal Poly Pomona school history, and the second fastest time in the CCAA this season. The 4x400 time is the top time in the CCAA so far. The senior from Los Angeles also clocked 55.70 in the 400-meter dash, the fastest time by a Division II athlete at the meet.
This is Field's second CCAA Track Athlete of the Week award this season and her eighth career award. See a complete list of weekly winners.
The Broncos will compete at the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego this weekend, April 5-6, in La Jolla.

SAC Relays this past weekend, meeting five NCAA provisional qualifying marks and breaking five personal records. Three of the Broncos' five provisional marks in the meet now rank Top 15 in the nation.
- Ryan Fields Captures 15th Career CCAA Track Athlete of the Week AwardFor the fourth time in the past six weeks, Cal Poly Pomona's Ryan Fields has been named the CCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 15-21. Fields becomes the 40th CCAA Athlete of the Week for CPP during 2023-24, making the Broncos the first school to ever reach 40 in an academic year. Fields now has 15 CCAA Athlete of the Week awards in his career, nearly doubling the previous conference record of eight. His sister, Ayana, is also now second in conference history with nine in her career.
