Broncos Cruise to 84-60 Victory Over La Sierra
RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos secured an impressive 84-60 victory over the La Sierra Golden Eagles on Tuesday, extending their strong start to the season.
The Broncos jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and never looked back, maintaining control of the game throughout. By halftime, they had built a solid 29-18 lead, and despite La Sierra's efforts, the Golden Eagles were never able to close the gap to within 10 points in the second half.
Cal Poly Pomona came out of the break with renewed energy, pushing their lead even further to ensure the win. The Broncos displayed excellent shooting from the free-throw line, going 75%—their highest mark so far this season. They also dominated the rebounding battle, recording 40, setting a new season-high for the team.
Individually, the Broncos had several standout performances. Demarreya Lewis-Cooper led the team with 15 points, while Sam Hunter added 13. Edric Dennis had a stellar game, scoring 15 points, including an impressive 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Dennis exploded in the second half, where he tallied all of his points. Shyheim Parm chipped in with 10 points as well. With the win, the Broncos improve to 4-1 on the season.
