Cal Poly Pomona's Demarreya Lewis-Cooper was named the FloCollege/CCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-8.

Lewis-Cooper led No. 25 Cal Poly Pomona to a pair of conference wins on the road as the Broncos improved to 7-1 (3-0). The junior guard averaged 22 points. 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals. He shot .467 percent from the field and .625 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point range. 

The Redding, California., native opened the week with 20 points against Cal State San Marcos. He went 4-of-5 from behind the arc and registered three steals.

Saturday's game against Sonoma State went to double overtime. Lewis-Cooper collected 24 points, six assists and three rebounds. He also went 9-of-10 at the line, and both steals came at critical moments. 

Lewis-Cooper is now eighth in the conference with 15.8 points per game. He also ranks fourth in free throw percentage (.867) and seventh in field goal percentage (.478). Click here to see CCAA Statistics Leaders.

This is the first career CCAA Player of the Week award for the transfer from Yuba College. He is the first Bronco to win the CCAA weekly honor since Phoenix Shackleford claimed the award the first week of the 2021-22 season. Click here to see a complete list of past CCAA Players of the Week.

Cal Poly Pomona is one of three teams unbeaten in CCAA play. The Broncos are joined at the top of the standings by Chico State and Cal State Dominguez Hills. CPP will be on a competition hiatus this week as it goes through academic finals. The team will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 17, against Stanton (NAIA).
