Broncos Keep Falcons at Bay

SEATTLE, Wash. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos secured a hard-fought 70-60 victory over the Seattle Pacific Falcons, maintaining control throughout the game despite a late charge from their opponents.

Leading the way for the Broncos were Sam Hunter with 13 points and Jaden Winfield with 10. The two guards sparked the offense, contributing key buckets as the team worked to stay ahead. The Broncos' scoring was well-balanced, with Demarreya Lewis-Cooper, Caleb Nelson, Kevin Simeth, Shyheim Parm, Zach Broadous, Miles Lewis, and Jordan Carpenter all adding to the point total.

The Broncos came out strong, quickly establishing an early 8-2 lead in the first five minutes. Throughout the first half, the Broncos kept a steady 8-10 point lead, with Seattle Pacific unable to string together enough offense to close the gap. The defense was stout, limiting the Falcons to tough shots and forcing turnovers.

In the second half, the Falcons slowly chipped away at the lead, making things interesting as they cut the deficit to as little as 4 points at times. But the Broncos never let the game slip away, answering each Seattle Pacific rally with timely scores and tough defense.

With just under three minutes left in the game, the Broncos pushed their lead back to double digits, ultimately sealing the win with a 70-60 final score. Despite the Falcons' efforts to make it a closer contest, the Broncos maintained their poise and kept control of the game from start to finish.
