San Marcos, Calif. - Kevin Simeth has been named the recipient of the 2025 Men's Basketball Elite 13 Award, an honor announced prior to the CCAA Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon. Simeth becomes the eighth Bronco to receive this prestigious award and is the third Cal Poly Pomona student-athlete to earn it this academic year.
The Elite 13 Award, previously known as the CCAA Championship Scholar Award, recognizes outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments. It is presented to the student-athlete who not only excels at the highest level in their sport, reaching the conference championship, but also maintains the highest academic standing among their peers.
First introduced in the 2017-18 academic year, the award is given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the final CCAA championship event in each conference-sponsored sport.
Simeth, an industrial engineering major with a 3.91 GPA, has started all 28 games for the Broncos this season, averaging 17.9 minutes per game. He leads the team with 155 rebounds, averaging 5.5 per game, and holds the highest field goal percentage at 61.3 percent.
