INDIANAPOLIS – The Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team was ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division II Super-Region 4 on Wednesday, it was announced on NCAA.com HERE.
The Broncos are currently in a three-way tie for first in the CCAA standings with a 10-1-6 overall record and a 5-0-5 conference record. Along with CPP, there are three other CCAA schools ranked in the Top 10; Cal State LA, Chico State, and Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Cal Poly Pomona has qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the past six seasons (excluding COVID), advancing to the semifinals three times and the finals once. Head coach Matt O'Sullivan looks to lead the Broncos to their seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in just a few weeks.
The Broncos will need to remain in the Top 10 in the Super-Region to get an at-large bid, or win the CCAA Tournament in Hayward, Calif. next week to obtain the conference automatic bid. Should the rankings remain the same, the Broncos would be the No. 5 seed and would travel to No. 4 Fort Lewis in Durango, Color on Nov. 22-24.
The field of 40 teams will be announced in the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Nov. 18th at 3:30 PM PST on NCAA.com.
