O’Sullivan Named CCAA Coach of the Year, Nine Broncos Receive All-CCAA Honors

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – Nine different Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer student-athletes received all-conference recognition on Wednesday night, in addition to head coach Matt O'Sullivan being named CCAA Coach of the Year for the first time in his career. The team's nine selections ties a program-high, and was the most in the conference.
O'Sullivan's Broncos had yet another strong year, posting an 11-1-6 overall record with a 6-0-5 record in conference. After losing the second game of the season to Point Loma, the Broncos would not take another loss through the regular season going 10-0-6. Being tied with Cal State Dominguez Hills at the conclusion of the regular season, the Broncos were named co-regular season champions – their first regular season title since 2018.
Max Laguna and Fin Jackson led the team as All-CCAA First Team selections, each receiving the honor for the first time in their careers. Both were named honorable mentions during the 2023 season.
Mads Frederiksen and Jasper Winslow repeated as All-CCAA Second Team selections, while Woody Angell earned the honor for the first time in his career. Angell had been named an honorable mention in 2023. Luke Garciduenas, Jakob Singh, Daniel Gutierrez, and Sam Lena closed out the nine selections for the Green & Gold as all were named honorable mentions.
The Broncos will face host-school Cal State East Bay in the semifinals of the CCAA Tournament this Friday, November 15th, at 4:00 PM. The Broncos previously defeated the Pioneers on their home turf on October 11th thanks to a thrilling buzzer-beater goal from Laguna, leading CPP to a 2-1 victory.
