NSF I-Corps Elevates Innovation Through Mini-Credential Program

Cal Poly Pomona’s NSF I-Corps provides an opportunity for participants to enhance their innovative concepts and projects through its Mini-Credential Program. This initiative represents a pivotal evolution from a basic short course to a more expansive program designed to transform research, products, startups, technology and creative ideas into market successes.

This complimentary 10-week asynchronous program is committed to assisting participants in converting their research into marketable commercial offerings. It is open to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community entrepreneurs, offering a dynamic, cooperative educational atmosphere. The initiative is inclusive, encouraging all ambitious individuals and entrepreneurs who aim to excel in their fields.

The program offers guidance on:

  • Preparing your research for SBIR/STTR funding to unlock essential financial resources.
  • Refining your business plan for precision and impact.
  • Developing the ability to create a strong business model that meets market needs.
  • Arming yourself with the tools needed for a successful market launch.
  • Gaining valuable advice from seasoned professionals in the industry.
  • Learning vital entrepreneurial skills for effective business navigation.

Y. Olive Li, NSF I-Corps site manager and nutrition and food science faculty, encourages budding entrepreneurs to apply.

“Do you feel there is an entrepreneurial spirit within you? If so, please join us at Cal Poly Pomona’s NSF I-Corps Mini-Credential Program and learn to turn your ideas into marketplace success,” Li said. ”With a transition from 4-week intensive drills and exercises, this 10-week asynchronous mini-credential program will allow you to follow your own pace and priority for self-directed discovery while with access to invaluable mentorships. Whether you are a student, faculty, alumni, or an aspiring entrepreneur, this program welcomes all!”

If you are prepared to turn your innovative vision into a successful venture and acquire significant entrepreneurial skills, the I-Corps Mini-Credential Program is your pathway to achievement. This program seeks not only to impart knowledge but also to connect academic research with real-world market implementation.
