By: CCAA
Cal Poly Pomona's Ayana Fields was named the CCAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 15-21.
She is the 39th Athlete of the Week for CPP during 2023-24, setting both the school and conference record for most in a year. The previous record was also Cal Poly Pomona during the 2021-22 academic year. This was also Ayana Fields' ninth career award, the second-most in conference history to only her brother, Ryan.
Ayana Fields helped rack up four NCAA provisional marks in the 200m, 400m, 4x100, and 4x400 for CPP at the Mt. SAC Relays.
In the 400m, she finished with a time of 54.63 seconds, which now ranks 14th on the 2024 NCAA Performance List. In the 200m, she came four-tenths of a second from beating her best mark this year. She anchored the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams which each set season-bests. The 4x100m relay team is now 13th nationally (45.62) and the 4x400m (3:41.38) ranks seventh.
