Women’s Cross Country Finishes Third at Conference Championships

By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications

FRESNO, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country finished third at the CCAA Championships in Fresno on Friday, with an average time of 22:19 in the 6K race. The Broncos placed third with a score of 66, narrowly finishing behind Stanislaus State (60) and Chico State (43).

The Wildcats claimed back-to-back conference titles with their first-place finish, and their 18th CCAA title overall. CPP's third-place finish tied the best finish during head coach Chris Bradford's tenure as head coach, marking the fourth time they have placed third in his seven seasons.

Three Broncos earned All-CCAA honors for finishing Top 15 in the race, including Vivian Martinez, Jade Kingston, and Paige Moore. Martinez was the only repeat All-CCAA honoree, having placed in the Top 10 during the 2023 championships.

Each of the top six finishers for CPP entered the Top 50 fastest times for the Broncos in a conference race, with Martinez running the 11th fastest time in a CCAA championship in school history.
