Volleyball Secures First Outright CCAA Title in Program History on Dahl’s 100th Win

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona volleyball head coach Traci Dahl collected her 100th win at CPP on Saturday afternoon, defeating San Francisco State by a score of 3-1.

With the win, the No. 3 ranked Broncos break the program record for most CCAA wins in a season at 17, while also securing their first outright regular season title in program history. CPP claimed at least a share of the title last Saturday with a 3-0 sweep over Cal State Dominguez Hills, but locked down the outright title with the win against the Gators. The Broncos had only ever won two regular season titles before in 1990 and 2005, both being co-champions with other schools.

Dahl becomes the fourth coach in program history to capture 100 wins, tying Tom Ash (1980-83) for third-most wins among head coaches in CPP volleyball history. Dahl became the head coach in 2019, after two seasons as the associate head coach under legendary head coach Rosie Wegrich from 2017-18. Before CPP, Dahl spent nine seasons as the head coach at Indiana State, collecting 101 wins – making her career total 201 after Saturday's victory. Since the start of the 2021 season, Dahl's Broncos are an incredible 92-21 overall and 59-13 in conference.

Four players recorded double-digit digs, along with nine blocks to the Gators' four. Helen McMullin led the Green & Gold with five blocks in the match, while Caitie Mueller tied a season-high with 11 digs. Sarah Ybarra, Charlotte Koerber, and Avery Percival also recorded double-digit digs, with Ybarra and Koerber logging double-doubles.

CPP swung at an impressive .304 clip, just their seventh time swinging above .300 in a match this season. San Francisco State was less efficient in their attacks, swinging at a .255 clip. Samantha Campion did not log a single attack error, good for a .400 hitting percentage to go along with 14 kills. She is now just 108 kills and seven digs away from reaching 1,000 in each statistical category for her Cal Poly Pomona career.
