Time Changes for Colorado Mesa Series
By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications
POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona baseball's upcoming series against Colorado Mesa is having game times changed due to inclement weather on Thursday night and headed into Friday morning. The new game times are as follows:
Game 1: Thursday, February 6th, at 3:00 PM
Game 2: Friday, February 7th, at 2:00 PM (Game 1 of doubleheader)
Game 3: Friday, February 7th, at 5:00 PM (Game 2 of doubleheader)
Game 4: Saturday, February 8th, at 12:00 PM
CPP and Colorado Mesa have not faced each other since 2007, in which the Broncos defeated the Mavericks 6-5 in a non-conference tournament held in St. George, Utah. The Broncos are 6-1 all-time against CMU, with their first meeting taking place in 1993, and this weekend will be the first four game series between the two teams. Colorado Mesa's only win in the head-to-head history came with an 11-7 victory in 1994.
In the time since their last meeting in 2007, the Broncos and Mavericks have combined for six NCAA DII College World Series appearances, and a staggering 25 NCAA tournament appearances out of 33 combined seasons. This weekend's series should provide a good preview of two teams that aspire to make a trip to Cary, NC at the end of May.
Additional scheduling changes may occur this week depending on the weather. Be sure to check the 2025 Schedule for updates as the week progresses.
