Broncos Finish With 18 CSC Academic All-District Honorees

POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona spring sports saw 11 student-athletes earn recognition on Tuesday for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Three student-athletes earned the recognition in the winter, while four earned it in the fall – bringing this year's total to 18 for the department.
The 2024 Academic All-District® teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Outstanding student-athletes are nominated for Academic All-District recognition by their athletic communications directors and must have a minimum 3.50 grade point average.
For Baseball, a student-athlete must have played in 90 percent of the team's games or must start in at least 66 percent of the team's games. For pitchers, it is 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. For Track & Field, a student-athlete must have finished in the top-50 regionally in an individual event based on the TFRRS performance lists. Though Cross Country is a fall sport, it is recognized in conjunction with Track & Field in the spring.

- Anthony Mizrahi Elevated to Assistant Coach for CPP BaseballAnthony Mizrahi has been hired as an assistant coach for the Cal Poly Pomona baseball program, it was announced by head coach Randy Betten. - Johnny Pappas Named to ABCA All-Defensive West Region TeamBronco catcher Johnny Pappas was named to the 2024 ABCA Division II All-Defensive West Region Team on Thursday, it was announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
- Reyes Named D2CCA All-America Honorable MentionCaleb Reyes added the final award to his distinguished Cal Poly Pomona career on Thursday, being named a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America Honorable Mention.
- Season Ends Against No. 4 Point Loma in Regional FinalsThe Cal Poly Pomona baseball team's season came to a close on Saturday, losing to No. 4 ranked Point Loma in the regional finals by a score of 12-4. The Broncos entered the day needing to win two games to advance to the super regionals, but fell in the first game.
