Broncos Push Past Stanton for 63-35 Victory

POMONA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos secured a 63-35 victory over Stanton University in a game that began with a close back-and-forth but ultimately saw the Broncos take control. The teams traded baskets in the opening minutes, but by the 5-minute mark, the Broncos began to assert themselves. They steadily built a 10-point lead by the 8-minute mark, and from there, the lead only grew. By the time the first half was winding down, the Broncos had pushed their advantage to 20 points with 4 minutes remaining. They entered halftime with a 40-25 lead, as their defense shut down Stanton's offense and their own scoring effort was firing on all levels.

The second half saw Cal Poly Pomona continue to dominate. Just 4 minutes into the period, the Broncos had regained their 20-point lead and maintained it for the remainder of the game. With less than 8 minutes left, an injury occurred that led to the suspension of the game. Ultimately, the contest was ruled a forfeit for Stanton.

Caleb Nelson led the Broncos with 10 points, while Shyheim Parm, Sam Hunter, and Michael Ofoegbu each added 9 points, with Hunter also contributing 3 three-pointers. Kevin Simeth was a force on the boards, pulling down a team-high 7 rebounds, while Hunter added 5. Demarreya Lewis-Cooper facilitated the offense with 7 assists and also collected 3 steals. The Broncos' balanced performance and strong defense helped them secure the win.
