Broncos Land Five on All-West Region Teams

POMONA, Calif. – Max Laguna, Fin Jackson, Jasper Winslow, Sam Lena, and Luke Garciduenas were recognized for their outstanding performances in the 2024 season by being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Teams.
Max Laguna, a senior midfielder from Anaheim, earned a spot on the All-West Region First Team. Laguna played in 21 matches, starting 18, and was a key contributor to the team's success. He scored 8 goals and recorded 6 assists, including 3 game-winning goals. With a total of 1163 minutes on the field, Laguna played a pivotal role for the Broncos' throughout the season.
Also earning First Team honors were senior defenders Fin Jackson and Jasper Winslow. Jackson, from Scholar Green, England, played in and started 20 matches, helping anchor the Broncos' defense. He contributed 2 goals to the team's offensive efforts and played a crucial role in the team's solid record, with the Broncos going 43-16 against opponents in matches he appeared in.
Winslow, a senior from Los Angeles, was also named to the First Team as a defender. He, too, played and started in 20 matches, contributing 2 goals and 2 assists. Like Jackson, Winslow was an integral part of the Broncos' defensive unit, and the team posted a 43-17 record against opponents in matches he appeared in.
Sam Lena, a junior midfielder from Santa Monica, earned a spot on the Second Team. Lena played in 19 matches, starting 18, and contributed 1 goal and 7 assists. Over the course of the season, he logged 1140 minutes on the field.
Senior goalkeeper Luke Garciduenas, from Pomona, rounded out the list of honorees with a spot on the Second Team. As a key part of the Broncos' defense, Garciduenas started in 21 matches, logging 1885 minutes in goal. He recorded 56 saves, posted a .778 save percentage, and registered 9 shutouts, further cementing his status as one of the top goalkeepers in the region.
The Broncos finished the 2024 season with an impressive 13-2-7 record, including a perfect 6-0-5 mark in CCAA conference play, earning the CCAA regular season championship. Cal Poly Pomona advanced to the NCAA postseason, where they fell to Midwestern State in the second round.
