RENO, Nevada - The 2024-2025 indoor track and field season kicked off in impressive fashion at the Silver State Invitational in Reno, Nevada. The meet saw several athletes make their mark in the record books, with multiple top-10 performances and two school records being broken.

Neshara Smith broke the school record in the pentathlon with a score of 3308 points. This outstanding performance set a new program benchmark and highlighted her potential as one of the team's top multi-event athletes. Isabelle Carreron also set a new school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.75m, solidifying her place among the program's best.

In individual events, Samira Stevenson entered the record book in both the 60m and 200m. She posted a personal-best 7.84 in the 60m, securing the 8th spot in the program's history. In the 200m, she ran 25.87, which earned her the 10th position in the record book. Ileen Emerson, who also competed in both sprints, tied for 10th in the 60m with a time of 7.86 and entered the 200m record book in 7th place with a strong 25.61 performance.

Jessica James had a remarkable showing in both the 200m and 400m events. She ran 25.35 in the 200m, earning the 5th spot in program history, and then clocked 58.23 in the 400m to place 4th in the record books. Tianna Jardstrom also had an impressive performance, securing the 3rd spot in the 400m with a time of 57.52. She continued to impress by tying for 6th place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.61.

Megan Carrigan had a strong day in the field events, entering the record books in both the long jump and triple jump. She jumped 5.29m in the long jump, securing the 6th spot, and then followed that up with a 10.56m performance in the triple jump to also place 6th in the program's history. Ehinomen Eghobor joined Carrigan in the record books, entering the long jump with a mark of 4.97m (10th place) and the triple jump with a jump of 10.42m (7th place).

In the weight throw, Mi'ah Molette secured 2nd place in the record book with a mark of 16.11m, highlighting her impressive performance in the event. Meanwhile, Sarah Lindenthal, who also competed in the pentathlon, entered the program's record books in 3rd place with a score of 2656 points.

The Broncos are off to a strong start this indoor track season and will look to build on their success as they head into their next meet in Albuquerque, N.M., in 2025.
