STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 7 ranked Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team competed in Northern California this past weekend, at both the Mike Fanelli Track Classic and the Stanford Invitational. In total, they saw two Top 10 finishes and four personal records broken.

Fields now ranks Top 10 individually in the nation in both the 200m and the 400m, as well as being a member of both the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay teams – which each rank ninth in the nation after the weekend.
Vivian Martinez cracked the Top 10 in CPP history in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:22.67, setting a personal best. Alondra Arias led the Broncos with a 20th place finish in the 5K race, coming in exactly three seconds behind her personal best of 17:03.45 - set at the Ben Brown Invitational.
Shona Christensen set personal records in both the shot put and the hammer throw, ranking sixth in school history in the latter. Both her 10th place finish in the shot put and her 17th place finish in the hammer throw were the highest of any DII athlete in either event.
