Men's Track & Field Earns Five Provos at Triton Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The men's track and field team picked up five more NCAA provisional qualifying marks on Saturday at the Triton Invitational. In total, the Broncos saw seven Top 5 finishes and six personal records.
The 4x400 relay team won their event, finishing with a time of 3:11.70 for the fifth-fastest in school history. The 4x100 relay team and Kailen Smith both finished second in the respective events, with Smith tying a career-high at 2.11 meters in the high jump. That mark was already second in school history, and is the highest of any CPP athlete since 1982.
Both Matteo Madrassi and Ian Strode earned provisional qualifying marks in the pole vault, finishing fifth and seventh in the event.
