Broncos Open CCAA Championships in Turlock

TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team opened the CCAA Championships on Thursday, earning nine points to rank sixth among the team leaderboards. The team broke 12 personal records in the first day of the event, while also earning two NCAA provisional qualifying marks.
Sarah Lindenthal shined in the heptathlon, including entering the CPP record book in the high jump at 1.69 meters. That mark ranks 10th in school history and eighth in the west region this season. Lindenthal and Ayana Fields had the two first-place finishes for the Broncos, the latter coming in the 200 meter preliminaries.
In total, the Broncos earned nine points on Thursday thanks to fourth and fifth place finishes by Shona Christensen and Cynthia Hurtado in the hammer throw.
