Broncos Rank Top 15 Nationally in Three More Events After 64th Annual Mt. SAC Relays

By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications

WALNUT, Calif. – The Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field team competed at the 64th Annual Mt. SAC Relays this past weekend, meeting five NCAA provisional qualifying marks and breaking five personal records. Three of the Broncos' five provisional marks in the meet now rank Top 15 in the nation.

Ayana Fields once again led the Broncos with four provo's, including anchoring a 4x100 relay team that moved up to second in school history with a time of 45.62 seconds. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Jaelyn Thomas, Ari Milton, Yuna Queniat, and Fields also finished with a time of 3:41.38 – which was just 3.5 seconds behind that same foursome's school record of 3:38.81 last season.

Both Shona Christensen and Cynthia Hurtado set personal records in the hammer throw, each improving in the CPP Top 10 record book. Christensen's mark of 49.01 meters ranks sixth in school history, while Hurtado is eighth at 45.52 meters.
