Broncos Extend Winning Streak with 2-0 Shutout Against Cougars

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - In a commanding performance, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos secured a 2-0 victory over Cal State San Marcos, maintaining their status as one of the top teams in the nation.

The Broncos and Cougars left the first half of the match scoreless with three shots from the Broncos and only one from the Cougars. The match turned in the 58th minute when Vanessa Cruz found the back of the net, marking her ninth goal of the season. Her precision set the tone for the rest of the game.

As the clock wound down, Angelina Rivas added to the Broncos' lead with a goal at the 82:41 mark. This goal was particularly special for Rivas, as it was not only her first of the season but also her inaugural goal as a Bronco.

Goalkeeper Bella Hara was solid in the net, playing all 90 minutes and making one critical save to ensure a shutout. Bella Anderson, Giselle Samayoa, Liberty Ortiz, and Tara Oper played vital roles to ensure that the Cougars only took one shot on goal in the match.

The nationally ranked Broncos are now 10-0-1 with a .939 winning percentage overall. In CCAA conference play, they are 2-0-1.
