Kalaya Buggs Named CCAA Player of the Week

In a week where she passed the 1,000 career point milestone, Cal Poly Pomona's Kalaya Buggs has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. (Mar. 3)
Buggs closed out the regular season with an emphatic 34-point performance after scoring 17 in the win on Thursday. Her efforts helped the Broncos lock down the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
She completed the week averaging 25.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. The senior was lethal from deep with 11 treys (11-of-19, .579 3pt%), and she finished the week shooting .536 percent from the field.
The Compton, Calif., native completes the regular season ranked fourth in the CCAA in assists (3.7) and second in free throw percentage (.798). Click here to see the CCAA Statistics Leaders.

Cal Poly Pomona earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, March 6-8 at Cal State San Marcos.
