By: CCAA

Jack Sanders of Cal Poly Pomona has been selected the CCAA Baseball Player of the Week after an offensive week.

Sanders belted three homers and drove in 13 runs to lead the Broncos to a four-game series sweep over Cal State Dominguez Hills. He helped Cal Poly Pomona clinched a berth into the CCAA Baseball Tournament, to be held on CPP's home field at Scolinos Field, May 8-11. The Broncos also moved into a tie for first place, based on winning percentages, in the CCAA standings.

The junior outfielder batted .467 (7-for-15) with a 1.756 OPS, hitting 1.200 slugging and .556 on-base percentages. He scored seven times, hit a triple to go with the three bombs, with three walks to tally 18 total bases.

In Friday's opener, Sanders hit a grand slam in the fifth inning en route to a 2-for-4, five RBI game. In Saturday's nightcap, his only hit in three at-bats was a three-run blast to center in the sixth in the 9-2 win. In the series finale Sunday, Sanders tripled in the third to drive in a run and then hit a two-run jack in the seventh to cap a 12-0 CPP win.

Sanders is tied for second in the CCAA with 10 home runs. He's also third with 47 runs batted in and third with a 1.102 OPS. Click here to see CCAA baseball stats leaders.
