Alan Rennie Named NSCA All-American

By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field student-athlete, Alan Rennie, has been named a 2024 National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) All-American. This award recognizes Rennie's athletic accomplishments and his dedication to strength and conditioning. Nominated by CPP Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Mike Senyo, Rennie's determination to improve in athletics while maintaining academic prominence is a great model for all student-athletes at Cal Poly Pomona. Rennie was one of 38 track and field student-athletes (men or women) recognized by the NSCA this year.

"Alan came in as a transfer to Cal Poly Pomona, and is by far the strongest student-athlete within the athletics department. His Fall PR numbers were Back Squat: 512 to 534, Clean: 291 to 324, and Snatch: 174 to 238. This improvement was seen after just one semester of coaching. Alan is a leader amongst the throwers group, showing up early to practice and lifting, leading by example by cleaning up, and shows a willingness to be coached and refine his craft. He's doing this with a GPA above 3.00 while pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering."  ~ Coach Senyo

"We are proud to have Coach Senyo join the NSCA in its mission to safely improve athletic performance," says Eric McMahon, NSCA's Coaching and Sport Science Program Manager, "Supporting our student-athletes, like Alan, guarantees a stronger future for the NSCA."
