Kamansky Earns 450th Win
POMONA, Calif. – Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball head coach Greg Kamansky picked up his 450th career win on Saturday night with a 61-55 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt. With the win, the Broncos improve to 8-13 on the season and 7-10 in CCAA play.
Bam Johnson, Michael Ofoegbu, and Jaden Winfield each scored double digits in the win, teaming up for 44 of the Broncos' 61 points. Winfield also led the team with six boards, the fifth time he has scored at least 10 points with five rebounds in a game this season.
The game remained fairly close in the opening 20 minutes, seeing five lead changes and both teams shooting 34 to 36 percent from the floor. A layup and a trey in the final three minutes gave Lumberjacks a 25-21 lead headed into halftime.
The Broncos were able to briefly regain the lead in the opening minutes of the second half, coming from a layup and two free throws from Winfield. Soon after, Cal Poly Humboldt took the lead on a trey, giving them a 31-28 lead with 15:58 on the clock. They would maintain this lead for the next 10 minutes of play, with the Broncos never letting them pull ahead by more than seven.
With 4:12 left in the game, Johnson shoveled a pass to Winfield, who subsequently hit a three to give the Broncos their final lead of the game. The game ended with an explosive Ofoegbu dunk in the final second, putting an appropriate exclamation on Kamansky's 450th career win.
Over the past 21 seasons, Kamansky has been joined on the bench by associate head coach Damion Hill. The former CPP student-athlete turned coach has been part of Kamansky's staff for 415 of his 450 wins, including all 14 NCAA Tournament Appearances and the national title run in 2010.

The Broncos will head on their final road trip of the regular season next week with games at Cal State East Bay (14-9) and San Francisco State (14-11).
