Broncos Cap Strong Season with 21st Place Finish at NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO - In a challenging race marked by rainy conditions, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos secured a strong 21st place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The result represents the Broncos' highest ranking since 2019 and highlights the team's resilience and growth over the season.
Competing in a 10K race, the Broncos faced tough conditions, with rain soaking the course and making footing slippery. Despite the weather, the team held their own against some of the nation's top talent, finishing 21st as a team out of 34 teams.
Leading the way for the Broncos was Leandro Candray, who finished in 88th place overall with a time of 31:14.5. Close behind him was Tom McDonnell, placing 106th, and Evan Franco, who came in 118th. Juan Ramos finished 151st, followed by Ethan Romero in 174th. Chris Razo finished 189th, and Christian Coley rounded out the Broncos' effort in 212th out of 259 athletes.
Overall, the Broncos' 21st place finish in a national championship meet is a testament to the team's depth and determination, and it caps off an impressive season for the program.
