Winslow Named United Soccer Coaches Academic All-American

By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cal Poly Pomona All-West Region defender Jasper Winslow was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Scholar All-American second team.

In order to be considered for this recognition, a student-athlete must be of junior, senior, or graduate academic standing, have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average throughout their career, and have played in at least 75 percent of all team's games and be an elite player as supported by playing honors (i.e., all-conference) and contributions to the team.

Winslow met and exceeded each of these requirements, being named to both All-CCAA Second Team and United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Second Team during the 2023 season. The agricultural science major also maintained a 3.43 GPA while starting in 19 of 21 games played. The fourth-year junior outside back scored the first four goals of his college days, fifth on the team and two of them of the game-winning variety, and added one assist for nine total points. Winslow paced all Broncos with 1,750 minutes of action on the pitch.

Winslow is the fourth United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American in program history, with Daniel Garcia Jr. first earning the recognition in 2014, and both Nadeer Ghantous and Sergi Monso being recognized in 2017.
