FREMONT, CA – The Cal Poly Pomona women's cross country team placed third in the 2023 CCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning. The 6K race was hosted by Cal State East Bay at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont, CA.

CPP finished with 63 points and a team time of 1:49:40, as well as an average time of 21:56. Stanislaus State barely beat out the Broncos for second place, finishing with 61 points and an average time of 21:52. Chico State led the conference with 45 points and an average time of 21:40, claiming their 17th CCAA Championships title.

Three Broncos placed in the Top 10 in the field of 91 runners, including Alondra Arias (6th, 21:41.6), Vivian Martinez (8th, 21:42.5), and Angela Arellano (9th, 21:45.6). All three were placing 10th or higher at both the 2K and 4K splits, but the trio managed to make a late push to be one of the first 10 to cross the line.

Jade Kingston (22:10.0) and Lauren Jauregui (22:19.5) both made the Top 25 in the race, finishing in 18th and 22nd, respectively. The remaining five runners all finished in the Top 50, giving the Broncos their best team finish since 2019 at third place.
