Carreon Breaks Another School Record at Triton Invitational
By: Alex Kline, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications
LA JOLLA, Calif. – Junior Isabelle Carreon broke the Cal Poly Pomona pole vault record on Saturday, surpassing a mark she set earlier this season. The Cal State Fullerton transfer has now broken three school pole vault records in her first season with the Broncos, both during the indoor season as well as twice during the outdoor season. Her mark of 13.94 meters was good for a second place finish in the event at the Triton Invitational.
Shona Christensen had the lone first place finish for the Green & Gold, placing first in the shot put with a distance of 13.06m. Ayana Fields (4th place in the 400 meters), Tianna Jardstrom (5th place in the 400m hurdles), and the 4x100 relay team (2nd place) were the others to finish Top 5 in their respective events.
In total, the Broncos set seven personal records, five of which came in the 1500 meter run.
